Creature Feature: Fairy Penguin.

Tired of me posting about creepy parasites and scary snakes? Here's something so adorable that it made me happy-happy even when I was nearly falling asleep:

The Fairy Penguin (also Blue Penguin, Little Penguin, Little Blue Penguin, Korora, and Eudyptula minor) is native to Australia, New Zealand, and Tasmania (with some reports from Chile). It is the smallest penguin in the world, and its small size and blue coloration make it as cute as the dickens.

What're YOU lookin' at?

Oh, wait. This creature is from Australia. That cannot be good.

Fairy penguins have been known to bite tourists from time to time. That, supposedly, is one of the reasons Tux became the mascot for Linux. The creator of Linux got bitten by one while vacationing in Australia, and the rest is history.

But who cares? They're just adorable! So what if they lead to more cuteness in the world? That seems to be their niche in life (aside from eating fish).
